COFFEE
Hubbard Lake Coffee Roasters, LLC was established in the spring of 2004. In December 2007, the enterprise was purchased by North Country Candy and Gifts of Alpena, Michigan. Our green coffee beans are carefully selected from their countries of origin by specialty coffee importers and then carefully roasted by hand in small batches on site. Our goal is to bring the finest, freshest coffees from around the world to Northeast Michigan and beyond.
We also have a full service espresso bar in-house, offering both dairy and dairy-free milk options as well as over 30 Stirling syrup flavors. Try one of our signature lattes or our prized cold brew the next time you’re in town!

CARAMEL CORN
Each bag of caramel corn is carefully prepared and tested in small batches to ensure it’s the best. This crunchy, sweet delight is sure to please all ages as it is available plain, with or without nuts, chocolate covered--we even have cheesy popcorn! Many customers tell us it’s the best caramel corn they’ve ever had; who’s to say they’re wrong?
ICE CREAM
Here at North Country Candy and Gifts, we believe in using local sources for our ingredients and products, and our ice cream is no exception! During the summer we offer over 30 flavors of Ashby’s Ice Cream, including crowd favorites such as Michigan Pothole, Superman, and Eskimo Kisses. Keep it classic with 2 scoops in a waffle cone, or try one of our more unique options--handmade malts and shakes, affogatos, or a cold brew fusion (our very own concoction of ice cream and cold brew coffee!)
CHOCOLATE
Come taste the difference between real chocolate and commercial candy bars. Our treats and chocolates are handcrafted right here in our kitchen. Our chocolate case is well-stocked with creams, meltaways, jellies, cordial cherries, barks, and more! We also have decorated chocolate- and caramel-coated goodies such as homemade rice krispie treats, oreo cookies, twinkies, and seasonal solid chocolates.
